June happenings + updates

June already? We're actually nearly ten days in. HOW!!!!!?

I hope everyone is staying well and soaking up the warmth of the sunshine these days. Another hot one here in beautiful Greenwood, SC. With graduation behind us and Summer days ahead, I wanted to give you a few Uptown Greenwood + Sugar updates and happenings!

First things first : it's a great time to visit us in Uptown Greenwood to experience the most amazing, whimsical horticultural creations during SC's Festival of Flowers! From June 1st to July 12th, you can browse Uptown and take in the sights of 30 gorgeous topiaries on display. There's also so many shops + restaurants that have recently reopened, so you can pop in and cool down during your walk.

I took my boys around this morning and their favorite was King Kong! It's a great way to get the kiddos outdoors and it's absolutely FREE. You can also pick up a free topiary map right here at Sugar or any other shop/restaurant here Uptown. Make it a fun scavenger hunt and we love ending our topiary tour with ice cream next door at Howard's or Main Street Market. Adults, plan an evening stroll and be sure to grab a refreshing beverage afterwards at Flynn's on Maxwell and/or Good Times Brewery! 

It's so refreshing to get the kids out (safely), post the Covid-19 crisis/shut down. While things certainly aren't completely back to normal, we continue to take all precautionary measures to keep our store as sanitary as possible. Please remember only four customers in the store at a time. Also, a lot of our vendors from all over the country are STILL just getting back up and going! So many orders/shipments have been delayed and again, things just do not feel 100% back to normal just yet.

All that being said, we have decided to continue on with updated store hours of MONDAY - SATURDAY, 10-4pm for the duration of Summer. After much discussion with our fellow Uptown merchants, we know that limited hours + limited number of customers in the shop will hopefully help all of us in the long run right now. The extra hours post closing also allow us to fulfill increasing online orders, which we are so incredibly thankful for. You have no idea! Thank you thank you for shopping small and shopping local.

Once kids go back to school and the country continues to slowly reopen, we plan to switch it back to our normal hours of M-F, 10-6 and Saturday, 10-4. Until then, thank you for bearing with us during such complicated, uncertain times.

So what's next? Look forward to our patriotic collection launching this Friday (weather permitting for our photoshoots) and/or next week. So many amazing styles from Karlie, BuddyLove, JoyJoy and more! Oh and don't miss our NEW "Restocks" tab where we're steady restocking our bestselling tees, Judith March hats, candles, etc... you know, all the Summer must haves :) 

Want to be the very FIRST to know when a sold out item is restocked? You can click on the product you're interested in and then the size, then click "EMAIL WHEN AVAILABLE". Simply enter your email and BOOM! You'll receive an email the second we enter the inventory into our system. Literally. It's the absolute fastest way to find out about a restock. 

We're trying our best to keep things restocked but with limited inventory from our vendors, styles are definitely going fast. Just remember if a style you love sells out fast this week, there's ALWAYS something great coming in next week. New arrivals launch every Friday at 10am. Karlie has shipped out NEW treats to us every. single. week. Excited to kick off another fun launch this Friday!
